"Satcom on the move" (SOTM) refers to the use of satellite communication (satcom) systems to provide connectivity and communication services to vehicles or other mobile platforms while they are in motion. This can include vehicles on the ground, such as cars, trucks, and buses, as well as aircraft, ships, and other vessels.

SOTM systems are designed to provide a reliable and high-quality communication link between mobile platforms and the satellite network, even when the platforms are moving at high speeds or experiencing significant changes in position or orientation. These systems typically use antennas and other specialized equipment to establish and maintain the communication link with the satellite network, and may be equipped with advanced features such as beamforming and adaptive modulation to optimize performance in challenging environments.

SOTM systems are used in a variety of applications, including military and civilian communications, emergency response, transportation, and logistics. They are an important tool for enabling mobile platforms to stay connected and communicate with each other and with ground-based systems, even when they are in remote or hard-to-reach locations.
