In the aerospace context, velocity refers to the speed and direction of an object as it moves through space. Velocity is a vector quantity, meaning it has both magnitude (speed) and direction.

For example, a rocket might have a velocity of 5,000 meters per second in the upward direction as it leaves the Earth's atmosphere. Another example is an airplane traveling at 800 kilometers per hour in the westward direction.
