In the aerospace industry, "airborne" refers to something that is flying or in flight. This can include aircraft, such as airplanes or helicopters as well as other aerospace vehicles or equipment that are capable of sustained flight.

The term "airborne" is often used to describe the state of an aircraft or other vehicle that is in flight, as opposed to being on the ground or stationary.
